Hi there, my name is Shaan! :D This is a little personal website I made, thanks for checking it out! I'm an engineering student at the University of Waterloo. My biggest hobby and creative passion is producing and releasing music! Some of my other hobbies include photography, listening to music, and editing Wikipedia.
I write, produce, and release music under various names![1] It's my biggest passion and something I don't see myself stopping anytime soon :)
I've been producing since 2017 and releasing music since about 2020; it's mostly electronic, but I dabble in a variety of genres, including ambient, folk, and indietronica. I don't have a large fanbase or anything — it's a wonderful goal, but for now, I mostly share my music with friends.
If you'd like to check it out, here is a list of my favourite releases:
I also have done a bunch of freelance work, meaning my music has ended up all over the place, for example, this YouTuber, this mobile game, this PC game, or this YouTube video.
Listening to music is one of my biggest passions! I love delving into new genres, discovering new albums, and talking about anything music-related! It's a bit silly, but I also rate and catalog every album/EP I've listened to; the current count since 2020 is about 1000 albums.[2]
Here's a list of my all-time favourites:
I mostly prefer recent music, especially indie, pop, rock, electronic, and ambient music, but I always try to be open-minded! Please send/tell me your recommendations! I'll be sure to listen to them!
Another hobby I enjoy is photography! I got started after being motivated to take pictures while on vacations. I started using my family's Canon DSLRs and learned how to shoot manually. I loved the process and the ability to create accurate images! I also shot a roll of film for my high school photography class, (macro plants!) which I enjoyed a lot.
Generally, my preferences in photos lean towards the more "film-like" feel where interesting compositions and natural colours are preferred. The DSLR I was using (EOS Rebel T3i) was stolen in 2023, along with a cheap film camera, so I bought a Fujifilm mirrorless camera (the X-T20). I love it, and hopefully it never needs to be replaced!

Another thing I enjoy is being an editor on Wikipedia![3] You might be a bit confused — it's an odd way to spend a bunch of time, I get it. For me, it gives me a way to contribute to something bigger and help people, while also giving the same "rewarding" feeling of completion that winning a game does. If you find writing and researching fun, you should try it too!
I mostly edit about independent music, internet culture, and restaurants. Essentially whatever interests me that seems it needs improvement.
Here are some favourite projects:
Overall, I've created about 40 articles![5]
